Pizza for a cause

Frank Pepe’s Pizzeria Napoletana, 221 Buckland Hills Drive, Manchester, kicks off its “Good Neighbor Day” program on Monday, March 26.  The pizzeria will donate 10 percent of all lunch and dinner sales that day to Journey Found, a program that serves adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

 

Free paper shredding

H&R Block will host a free paper-shredding event.  Each participant will be allowed one box of personal information to shred. The event will take place Saturday, March 24, from 9 a.m. to noon at H&R Block in Enfield, 54 Hazard Ave., and in Manchester, at 374a W. Middle Tpke.

 

Fishing for a Harley

Trantolo & Trantolo, a personal injury law firm, will host its third annual “Fishing for a Harley” tournament on Saturday, April 7.  Catch a tagged fish and win a 2017 Harley Davidson Dyna Fat Bob motorcycle.  Participation costs $20; all proceeds will go to the MDA of Connecticut.  Tickets can be purchased at the Trantolo & Trantolo offices, TSI Harley-Davidson, or Sun Valley Beach Club.  Registration begins at 6 a.m. and fishing begins at 7 a.m. at 51 Old Springfield Road, Stafford.  For details, go to www.facebook.com/trantoloandtrantolo

 

Windsor Business Connections

The monthly Windsor Business Connections meeting will take place on Wednesday, April 4, at 8 a.m.  The Windsor Chamber of Commerce sponsors the event, which takes place on the first Wednesday of every month.  This month’s meeting will be held at Bart’s Drive In and the Beanery at 55 Palisado Ave., Windsor.  Attendees can hand out business cards and make connections with other business owners. Breakfast seminar about benefits

The state Employment and Training Commission and the Labor Department’s Office of Workforce Competitiveness are sponsoring   “Breakfast & Benefits: An Employer’s Guide to Unemployment Insurance” on March 29 from 8 to 11 a.m.  Registration is $25. Assisted Living job fair

The Ivy at Ellington will host a job fair on April 11 and 12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 123 West Road, Ellington.  The Ivy at Ellington is a family-owned and -operated assisted living community that will open in early summer 2018.  It is hiring certified nursing assistants, registered nurses, receptionists, an office manager, a maintenance director, housekeepers, and activity assistants.  For details, contact Sara Robertson at 413-237-7440.
