NCCCC member spotlights

The North Central Connecticut Chamber of Commerce is giving members an opportunity to spotlight their work.  The new “Tell All Tuesdays” will feature one member on the NCCCC Facebook page, Member Only Facebook Forum, website, and monthly newsletter.  Entries must be submitted the Friday before publication and will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis. BJ’s picks up where Sam’s left off

Sam’s Club members can now sign up for a special membership offer at their local BJ’s Wholesale Club or online at www.bjs.com/savings.  This offer follows the closure of several Sam’s Club stores across the country, including one in Manchester.  Prior employees of Sam’s Club can also go to www.bjs.com/careers or visit their local BJ’s for inquiries related to job openings.

Ted’s IGA gets bagels

Ted’s IGA in Hebron has contracted with Between Rounds Bakery Sandwich Café to begin selling Between Rounds bagels in its bakery department.  Between Rounds has locations in Manchester, Vernon, Tolland, and South Windsor.

Cyber threat seminar

The Connecticut Employment and Training Commission’s Business Engagement Committee and the Connecticut Department of Labor’s Office of Workforce Competitiveness will present a cyber security seminar for businesses at the University of Connecticut Health Cell and Genome Science Building on Jan. 25. Walmart offers health screenings

Connecticut Walmart stores will hold a Walmart Wellness Day from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20. This free health screening will includes tests for blood glucose, blood pressure, body mass index, and low-cost immunizations. Walmart is introducing a virtual reality experience in select stores to assist with smoking cessation.
